The NISupply Portable Heavy Duty Honey Refractometer (58%-90% Brix scale) Hand held Refractometer in a blue, foam-lined hard case. This “Tri-scale“ unit is especially necessary when testing high sugar items like honey. This units uses ambient light, no battery or power source is required.

This unit is equipped with “Automatic Temperature Compensation” for accurate measurements without recalibration after shifts in ambient working temperature (field use). The NISupply Portable Heavy Duty Honey Refractometer does have ATC.

CALIBRATION FLUID (COMES WITH THIS LISTING!)

Each unit comes factory calibrated, but each unit should be calibrated several times a year, or after multiple uses to ensure that you are achieving the high accuracy. Since Honey is Hygroscopic, and prone to shifting moisture content, it is imperative to know what your honey's moisture content is.

Add a 1.8ml vial of 60% Brix Calibration Fluid to your order to have peace of mind for when you test. Since honey is Hygroscopic, it is capable if absorbing water. Too much and your honey will ferment and rot!

We added this product as a means of proper Honey Refractometer after years of enduring the old "oil and block" calibration method. If you ever tried it, you know how bad that "oil" stank! The 60% Brix Calibration Fluid has no odor!
