Use this to calibrate your ABBE Refractometers, Brix Refractometers (when 0.0% Brix is on the scale, if not, you will need a speciality Calibration Standard - contact us for details!), Salinity Refractometers, BREWfractometers®, Clinical Refractometers, Coolant Refractometers and Antifreeze Refractometers. Guaranteed to work on all types of refractometers. If you need to calibrate other Refractometers, contact us and we can consult with you via e-mail or the phone.
This bottle contains DISTILLED WATER, but is packaged to make calibrating easier. Buying this product is more about convenience than saving money.
THE OTHER SELLERS WON'T TELL YOU WHAT IS IN THEIR PRODUCT! WHY DO YOU THINK?
Please consult your users guide for the appropriate calibration procedure for your Refractometer. Below is a general guideline for calibrating your Refractometer with this fluid.
1) Calibration procedure should take place indoors near 68'F/20'C
2) Open the daylight plate
3) Place 2-3 drops of this calibration fluid on the prism.
4) Close the plate
5) Look into the eyepiece and turn the calibration screw until the boundary between the upper blue field and the lower white field meet exactly on 0% Brix (for Brix Refractometers, 0ppt on Salinity Refractometers, 1.3330 on Clinical Refractometers and 32'F/0'C for Antifreeze Refractometers)
6) You're done! The whole calibration procedure will only take 30 seconds.

COMMON QUESTIONS:
Why do I need this fluid? - This vial of DISTILLED WATER is pure and will maintain the factory calibration and accuracy of your Refractometer. Again, you can buy distilled water anywhere, this listing allows for a small vial to be purchased and placed inside the Refractometer case. This allows for quick and easy testing on the go, whenever you need it.
How do I use this fluid? - Place a drop or two of the fluid onto the prism of your Salinity Refractometer and it should read 0.0% Brix, 1.3330 Refractive Index, 0 Salinity PPT and 32'F/0'C Antifreeze Freeze point. If not, adjust your calibration screw on your Refractometer.
Can I still use Distilled Water purchased from my local store to Calibrate? - Yes you can! This listing is more about providing a quick and easy package so you can calibrate more easily.
Store with the lid on tight in a dark and dry environment in moderate temperature (near room temp).
