WHAT THE HECK IS "POTENTIAL ALCOHOL"?

Used primarily by French Winemakers, the Potential Alcohol scale gives you a "ballpark" number of what your finished alcohol will be after fermentation. Excellent unit to double benchmark for quality! FYI - NO REFRACTOMETER READS FINISHED ALCOHOL! This unit allows you to test for Sugar/Sucrose Content in items like Wine Grapes to determine the perfect time for harvest, or the perfect batch blends. The Alcohol scale allows for rapid and simple benchmarking of the original and finished product.

THIS INSTRUMENT IS FOR ORIGINAL GRAVITY READINGS ONLY!

Models with the “ATC” suffix are equipped with “Automatic Temperature Compensation” for accurate measurements without recalibration after shifts in ambient working temperature (field use). This unit DOES have ATC.
